I'm on a roll! more paint on the Churchill. I mixed up a dark Olive Drab colour by adding black to Tamiya Olive Drab, 50:50 and sprayed at low pressure along all the plate joints and hatches. I sprayed the mixture around the turret ring on the hull and the undersides of the trailer as well. It looks a bit stark but that is the plan. Next up some highlights and lightening of the upper panels and hatches. I'm looking to get a stark contrast between colours as the filters will draw the colours together.

it's been ages since i have managed any model making of note. So here's a post from earlier today. I bought a new airbrush at the Scottish National show the other week and finally found some time to try it out.
Here is the first coat onto a Churchill. It's Tamiya's old offering of the Crocodile version. Built last year and undercoated in black. I've used a mixture of 3 Tamiya paint to replicate a light Olive drab that the British used. Dark and light coats will follow to make a slight modulation. I built this tank specifically to test out more paint techniques.

Thistle Model makers Society are holding there annual show this weekend. Portobello Town Hall. Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 10-5.
I'll be there with my models so come along and say hello. Lots to see. Model railways, dolls houses, aircraft, boats and tanks.
Traders will be in attendance to tempt you to spend your cash and refreshments are also available.
